Jess Dyson: From Club Beginnings to England U21 Star
Jess Dyson’s hockey journey is a great example of how players can progress through the England Hockey pathway.
Jess Dyson began her hockey journey at age 5 with Harrow Hockey Club. She progressed quickly, representing Middlesex U13, joining the Performance Centre at U14, and playing for Wessex Leopards at the Futures Cup at U15 and U17.
In 2021/22, she moved to Surbiton HC, playing in National League Division 1 with the 2nd team, before stepping up to the Premier Division with the 1st team in 2022/23. She continued at the top level with Loughborough University 1s in 2023/24.
Jess’s standout performances earned her a place in the England U21 squad, where she helped secure a bronze medal at the 2024 European Championships, finishing as England’s top scorer.
