Lifetime Achievement Award for Club Legend Don Goff
At our End of Season Dinner Dance, Harrow Hockey Club was proud to present a very special Lifetime Achievement Award to a truly remarkable member of our Club, Don Goff.
Don has devoted his life to Harrow Hockey Club, giving over 50 years of consistent service.
Throughout this time, he has held a wide range of positions including Fixture Secretary, Junior Coach, Umpire, Men’s Team Secretary, Men’s 2’s Team Captain, Men’s 2A’s Captain, Chairman, and today he is the Club President.
Don’s commitment, dedication, support and presence is felt by all members of the Club. At the age of 79, he continues to turn out every Saturday to umpire across all senior teams, and on Sundays he can be found officiating junior matches. Even when not umpiring, Don is a familiar and reassuring presence on the sidelines, offering encouragement and support to players of all ages and abilities.
Earlier this year, following an incident while umpiring, it really hit home for many of us, including Don himself, just how much he is valued and treasured by us all. We were all hugely relieved to see him make a full recovery and it has reinforced the enormous regard in which he is held by the entire Harrow Hockey Club family.
This Lifetime Achievement Award recognises Don’s extraordinary dedication to Harrow Hockey Club and every one of its members, past and present.
Don, we thank you and truly appreciate all that you do.
