Hockey is a fun and rewarding sport and you don't have to be a player to get a lot out of it.  There are lots of different ways for juniors and their parents to get more involved with hockey.

Parents and Juniors Aged 13+

The perfect starting place for juniors aged 13+ and parents, there are Leadership Awards.  The Leadership Award is designed as an introduction to many aspects of hockey. The Course contains 4 key areas: Foundation Leadership Award, Foundation Umpire Award, Foundation Coaching Award and Foundation Management Award.  All areas can be taken, or you can just study selected areas.

To find out more about Leadership Awards click here.

To find a Leadership Award course, visit Find A Course in the Young People section of the England Hockey Website.  Note: although its says Young People its also perfect for parents who want to get more involved with different aspects of hockey!

Young Umpires: Aged 8-13

Younger juniors can also have the opportunity to top up their hockey skills by becoming a Young Umpire.   Juniors will be notified of any suitable courses as they arise and Harrow may even host a course at some point.

Coaching: Parents/Players Aged 16+

If coaching is your thing, let us know!  To find out more about coaching qualifications, click here.  If your are interested in coaching for Harrow Hockey Club, please contact/speak to the Junior Secretary (Kerri Lendon) or the Junior Development Co-Ordinator (Monica Hall).

Team Managers

Parents - Harrow Hockey Juniors need Team Managers!  The role is quite simple.  We need parents who can co-ordinate travel arrangements for away games and help the coaches out with keeping a record of who's attending what sessions if required.  A CRB check would be required (which would be organised by the club) and if you'd don't have a First Aid qualification, the club will also look to get you qualified.  Its easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.  If you think you could help, please contact the Junior Secretary (Kerri Lendon) or the Junior Development Co-Ordinator (Monica Hall).  Thanks!
